LISA TABOR hails from a very large family from Houma, Lousiana. She relocated to New Orleans after becoming a Registered Nurse, having fulfilled an Associate’s Degree from Nicholls State University. While working as an Emergency Department nurse, she completed a Bachelor’s Degree at Loyola University. She later lived in Nashville, TN, briefly to complete a one-year fast-track Master's Degree, graduating as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2004, from Vanderbilt University. Her nursing career has been focused in emergency, critical care, cardiology and hospital medicine. In 2007, she pioneered the first full-time medical house calls practice, providing primary care to home bound clients. Lisa have been awarded Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneur of the Year by the LA Nurse Practitioner Association, the Vocational Excellence Award from the Rotary Club of Lafayette, Louisiana, and was a finalist for Business Innovation of the Year by the Acadiana Area Chamber of Commerce. She was on the winning team for the Innov8 Conference CodeFest 3.0 Competition, having developed an “Aging in Place” product. She is a nationally recognized conference speaker and has been published on cardiology-related topics. In 2015, Lisa closed her medical practice, and relocated to Las Vegas to accept an employment opportunity with UnitedHealth Group. She has been a member of Rotary International (Paul Harris Fellowship status) since March 2007, and is a member of the Las Vegas Spring Mountains Rotary Club. She has volunteered with and raised funds for countless non-profit organizations as well as participated in a medical mission to Honduras. Additionally, she was a Team Manager and Head Non-Skating Official for the Acadiana Roller Girls for four years. She enjoys cooking, music festivals, road cycling, and traveling. Her given nickname of “Sparky” is very accurate, as she exudes positive, engaged energy and wears a radiant smile. She exercises the southern Louisiana values by which she was raised … practicing kindness, nurturing relationships and celebrating life every day … Joie de vivre and Laissez les Bon Temps Roule’! Currently, Lisa is the Chapter Outreach Chair of the Karma Las Vegas Chapter
